  i just finished watching worlds apart and was very moved by it.

  i served as an elder for many years.

  i wanted to convey to all how sorry i am for all of the jc's i participated in.

  get stable financialy - something i didnt do- and i hate to say it- go to a strip bar. that is a DF offence and you can get a divorce.

  as most people seem to have worked out the private discussion and support part of the forum is not private beyond requiring a username.. today nugget and cantleave are having printouts of their posts in this section being used in evidence at their jc.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/204436/1/nugget-and-cantleave-are-no-longer-jehovahs-witnesses.

  my suggestion is, if its possible, to create an invite-only section of the board for truly private support.. .

  what about a vow?! to sign in you need to admit the flaws of the JW's that way if they do print you can show them the vow and I'm sure that info will be dextroyed because they don't want to get in trouble?

  it is my opinion everyone has the choice to follow jw path if they choose.

  what angers me is that half the time, people don't realise what they are getting themselves into.

  my work college had been studying for quite a while.

  we are just human. we were all in the same cult yet getting out is trumatic. humans all have different ways of dealing with it and sometimes anger makes people act rude. If i hurt you I won't feel as bad. I don't think we are all lovey dovey we are just ourselves. When you say what you want to say sometimes others are hurt. We are all the victims and want someone to blame. no one will listen but us so we try to blame eachother. I don't take anything personal. I lost everyone I loved at the time, if you don't love me - that is your loose

  Elders who drink too much?

  in the feb 15 study watchtower pg 29 paragraph 5 it asks"if you choose to drink alcohol you should ask yourself?

  if i need to counsel others on this matter do i have freeness of speech?.

  when i read between the lines i get this" you elders are drinking too much and no one is listening to you when you tell them to cut back on the booze".

  When I was a teen I was given alcohol many times in Watchtower Farms. I knew an elder that was making his own beer in the closet at the farm. the PO and wife where I am i know is an alcoholic and even gave there known pregnant daughter alcohol and the baby died from a heart defect.

  Will I ever break free from primitive JW thinking?

  i do a lot. One thing I have done to try and break the chain is buy a loto ticket once a week. May sound strange but the first time I did I was shaking. It took a few weeks to not feel guilty and look over my shoulder. Once a week I do it to keep reminding myself I am not one. Of course the new elder book said some for entertainment reasons is not t JC offence. It still helps and now I do it with confidence. Like I have the right.
